Drone-as-First-Responder (DFR) Program
Mt. Juliet PD DFR PROGRAM OVERVIEW
  1. The mission of the Mt. Juliet Police Department’s Drone-as-First-Responder program is to enhance public safety through the rapid, responsible, and transparent deployment of aerial technology in service to our community.

DFR provides real-time situational awareness that enables officers to respond more quickly, make informed decisions, protect lives, and reduce risk to citizens and first responders. Every deployment is guided by our commitment to honor, excellence, constitutional policing, and respect for individual rights.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department does not use DFR technology for random surveillance or to monitor individuals without lawful purpose. All drone operations are conducted in strict adherence to the United States Constitution, Tennessee law, FAA regulations, and department policy, with safeguards in place to protect privacy, ensure accountability, and maintain public trust.

Through innovation, transparency, and community partnership, the DFR program strengthens our ability to prevent crime, support emergency response, and ensure Mt. Juliet remains a safe place to live, work, and visit.
